The team at Hi-Res Creative recently wrapped production on a newly redesigned website for Bay Ltd. in Corpus Christi. As one of the largest full-service multi-discipline construction, fabrication, and maintenance contractors in the United States, Bay Ltd.’s operations span throughout North and South America with the capabilities to transport completed projects anywhere in the world. In addition to needing a modern upgrade to its existing site, Bay was also in need of web and search engine optimization (SEO), strong security features as well as an easy to use career portal with multi-lingual capacities.
Project Features and Tech Specs
The new website was designed to be modern, easy to use and boast some of the latest design features to improve user experience. The website was coded for WordPress using HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery and included support and integration for Google Analytics. In addition, the site was designed on a 1200 pixel grid and also coded for SEO integration and support, AJAX support and Lightbox support for photos. To encourage ease of use for all visitors, the site also features details such as a sticky header, full retina resolution, high quality vector icons, intro and outro page animations for subtle transitioning between pages and the entire site is fully responsive for use on any device, including mobile tablets and smart phones. Customized content also helps make the site engaging, easy to read and implements key phrases for the purposes of SEO, while a custom news page solidifies the company’s online presence and keeps the public informed of recent news, achievements, awards, philanthropy and projects undertaken by Bay Ltd.
It was also highly important to create a site that would continue to grow with the business far into the future; so several features were added with scalability in mind including optional WordPress multi-language support integration for translation if additional languages are required in the future. Other features include a collapsible, custom side menu with easy contact information access, while the integration of Google WebFonts allows pages to be loading universally on any device without the loss of any font that will affect the look and feel of the site. The option to include WooCommerce to sell branded and promotional merchandise on the site is also available.
Safety and Security
Privacy and safety are of the utmost importance when it comes to our client websites and Bay was no exception. To help enhance the site’s security, our technical department added automated script updates, malware protection, script injection protection, anti-spam modules, modified database tables, permissions hardening and brute-force protection against invasive login attempts. The site also features external site uptime monitoring to send alerts notifying staff of downtime so that immediate response may be taken.
The seven-week project included rigorous amounts of interviews and research and several weeks of production before the site went live. The site has seen several hundred views per day since its launch and is one of our most ambitious projects to date. To learn more about our work process for this project, please click here.
