Responsive Website Design

Mathis EDC approached HRMG to build a custom website that would not only promote the economic growth occurring in Mathis but also provide the tools for transparency and engagement with the local community. The website was designed with user-friendly navigation to showcase new businesses, land development opportunities, and the board’s transparency through posted agendas and meeting minutes. HRMG founder Jonathan Swindle worked closely with the Mathis EDC team to ensure the website was a reflection of the city’s ongoing development and forward-thinking initiatives.

HRMG integrated various custom features to streamline processes for Mathis EDC. For example, a custom-coded solution was created to sync the website’s FTP with Dropbox, allowing Mathis EDC staff to upload board agendas and minutes automatically, with the files then appearing on the website in real-time. This transparency feature has been pivotal for Mathis EDC’s communication with its community.

In addition, the website was built to be fully mobile-friendly, enhancing accessibility for both local residents and potential investors. HRMG also designed a bifold companion document to accompany the website, helping Mathis EDC further promote the region and its attractions, including Lake Corpus Christi.

 

Technical Features

The Mathis EDC website, hosted on HRMG’s Interworx server with LiteSpeed cache, offers high-performance capabilities such as image compression and retina graphics support, ensuring that the site loads quickly and maintains visual quality. The website incorporates drone photography and high-resolution images to highlight key areas, such as Lake Corpus Christi State Park, Mathis’ local hotel and RV parks, and the city’s new businesses.

Mathis EDC opted for an annual retainer with HRMG, which includes maintaining the website, writing articles and posts that highlight ribbon cuttings for new businesses, and promoting local Small Business Administration (SBA) programs. This ongoing partnership helps keep the community informed and engaged while promoting Mathis as a destination for both businesses and tourists.
