PRIDE Get Out the Vote
DIGITAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN
The pay per click campaign generated over 16,000 individual views of a select target audience in the Coastal Bend area for PRIDE’s Get Out The Vote campaign.
Project Overview
Pride Corpus Christi is an annual celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community of the Coastal Bend of South Texas located in Corpus Christi, Texas. It is operated by the parent organization The Mosaic Project of South Texas, Inc, whose mission is to create an inclusive community by promoting the well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community through love & mutual respect.
Bus Bench and Digital Marketing Campaigns
In addition to the Pride Corpus Christi website built and managed by HRMG, the MPST Board invested funds in an RTA bus bench campaign (50) in Corpus Christi and Flour Bluff, as well as creating a digital campaign to encourage voter turnout in the Coastal Bend amid a critical election year. USA Today reported LGBTQ voters are becoming an increasingly key constituency for presidential candidates. In the last seven Presidential Election Years between 1992 and 2016 in Nueces County, only once has voter turnout been above 60 percent and in the last six voter turnout has not exceeded 54 percent.
Media Partnership for Content-Rich Efforts
In an effort to create an effective digital campaign, HRMG’s partners came together to produce GOTV content that was marketed to LGBTQIA+ individuals in the region. In a special Revolve One podcast episode, TMPST board member Jonathan Dale Swindle and radio personality Joe Kelley discuss the importance of voting as a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Right On Corpus also produced an article in order to educate the community on topics such as how to register to vote and Nueces County’s early voting locations, as well as information for voting on election day on November 3rd.
Separately, HRMG then produced several graphics for social media posts and articles, working within guidelines to produce non-partisan election ads on Facebook and Instagram through the month of October. The pay per click campaign generated over 16,000 individual views of a select target audience in the Coastal Bend area for PRIDE’s Get Out The Vote campaign. As of November 3rd, 9.7 million Texans have voted in the 2020 presidential election, far surpassing the 8.97 million who cast ballots in 2016.
