In 2015-16, during client video productions, we identified a hurdle in finding qualified local video production talent. To overcome this obstacle, we elected to work with a graduate fresh out of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi that was looking to start her own film production company in our community. We invested equipment and resources in her endeavors to build one of the area’s first film production companies.
By proxy, Pomegranate Studios supports all video/media development projects for HRMG clients and has worked with us on projects for Bay Ltd., WKMC Architects, the City of Corpus Christi and others. Projects contracted with this company are invested back into local production efforts for future film projects and an increased capacity to execute quality work.
In 2017, Pomegranate Studios began the production of their very first short film, entitled ‘One for My Baby‘ with a cast and crew of over 30 people. The film featured music from Etta James and was shot in Kingsville at Harrel’s Pharmacy, Bishop at ‘The Bar’ and in Calallen, Texas at Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church. The film will be premiered at our coworking space in Wilson Plaza, AXOM Foundry, in 2018.
